Matt Janisch in the Blu Metz 46 won the first 15 lapper with Ryan Tidman taking the second in the BJ MacDonald 49 and setting fast time for the day.

Twenty cars started the first feature, and Matt Janisch lead the field to the drop of the green flag.

Only five laps into the event, the red flag was thrown when Richie Coy’s car slowly rolled onto its roof on the backstretch.  Another red flag flew just after the restart.  This time it was for a fire on the Alison Cumins entry.  Cumins lost a motor and the car erupted into flames in turn four.  After quickly exiting her car, Cumins appeared to be okay and returned to the pit area.

Green flag racing resumed and Janisch remained atop the field.  Just before halfway, Ian Cumins held second, followed by Don Adams, Robin Johnston and Tim Behmer.

The red flag flew for the third time and with only four laps remaining when Adams, lost an engine.  His car caught fire and he quickly pulled into the infield.

Janisch remained out front over the closing laps to score his first career ATQMRA win driving the Blu Metz Valley Extrusions TQ 46 powered by a Duchak Racing Engine.  Austin Fehr worked his way up to finish in the second spot.  Johnston was third, followed by Ryan Tidman and Tim Behmer.

The top fifteen finishers were inverted for the second 15-lap feature, which put Rudy Botticher on the point.

Botticher led the field down for the start, and then Jeff Kot came up from the third position to take the race lead.

The only caution of the race came when second place runner, Paul Lotier, got out of shape and nailed the front stretch fence.

Randy Cobral, the current NEMA point leader, grabbed the top spot after the restart and appeared to have the win in the bag.  That changed on lap seven when Tidman came from his twelfth starting spot to take the lead.  Cabral dropped to second, followed by Kot, Chris Deritis and Fehr.

Janisch made a late race charge through the field and fought for second with one lap remaining.

Tidman held on to win his third feature of the season with a Dart Engine.  Cabral held off Janisch for second, followed by Deritis and Kot.

Ryan Tidman in the Competition Classics Dart Chassis House car set fast time in the Formula 1 style Qualifying with a blisteringly fast lap of 12.724 seconds at 94.216 MPH followed by Don Adams, Ian Cummens, Matt Janisch and Alison Cumins and Tim Behmer who were tied with identical 13.000 second laps.

ATQMRA News and Notes:    The win for Janisch in the Metz 46 ads another win to the impressive resume of the 46 car that won its first race in Niagara Falls in 1988 as the Ted Seiz 56 with Randy Verhost at the wheel.  Some 20 years later Janisch put it back in victory lane.  Austin Fehr had his first podium finish of the season with a second place finish in the first feature.  He seems poised to earn his first feature win.  All 20 cars taking time were within a second of the fast lap set by Tidman.  Current NEMA point leader Randy Cabral invaded the ATQMRA to debut the Dave Clark 77 Dart in impressive fashion netting a second place finish in the second feature. Cabral likened Mountain Speedway to Beach Ridge speedway on the NEMA tour.  Micro Sprint regular Ken Wismer III scored his first top ten and backed it up with an 8th in the second 15 lapper.
