Don Adams wins in the Spitfire House Car

Mountain Speedway June 7th 2008. The ATQMRA arrived at Mountain 24 cars strong for the fifth point race of the season. Don Adams in the Spitfire Racing 26 led every lap en route to victory in the first heat race. The second heat was won by Chris DeRitis in the Team Risque 66 Dart after wrestling the lead from early race leader Richie Coy. The Third heat race saw an epic battle between two of the hottest rookies on the
ATQMRA circuit in Paul Lotier Jr. and Austin Fehr. The pair swapped the lead numerous times throughout the 8 lap heat race and raced side by side most of the race before Fehr gained the advantage and won his first ATQMRA heat race.

The Keenan Motors ATQMRA Feature went green to checker in an amazing 5 minutes 36 seconds for a race average just under 90 MPH for the 25 lap distance.

Richie Coy who is looking stronger each week in the Family owned Brat Chassis led the first five circuits before Paul Lotier Jr. was able to wrest the lead from Coy. His turn at the front was short lived as Don Adams made his move to take the lead on lap 9 and led the remaining laps to secure the win.

Frank Fischer worked his way into second position on lap 13 from his 7th starting position and started stalking Adams. Fischer was able to close the gap while Adams was negotiating lap traffic. Fischer was able to move within striking distance in the final laps be Adams was able to clear lap traffic just in time to secure the victory.

ATQMRA News and Notes. During post race tech inspections the 57 car of "Liquid" Lou Cicconi and the 1B of Paul Lotier Jr. were found to be too wide across the rear tires leading to their disqualification. It was unfortunate to see two strong runs go for naught. Cicconi made an impressive charge from his 16th starting position to 3rd without the aid of a caution and Lotier would have had his best finish of the season. NEMA Midget regular Jeremy Frankoski made his first race of the season with the ATQMRA finishing 9th and winning the Big wheel Challenge Match race during intermission. Ken Wismer Jr made his ATQMRA debut in the Joe Csernak F8 moving from his 22nd starting position to finish 15th.
