Chris DiRitis Wins a wild one at Mountain Speedway

Chris DiRitis survived two late race restarts to earn his second feature win of the season.  Robin Johnston took advantage of his second starting spot and jumped out to an early lead.  Austin Fehr quickly started to pressure Robin Johntson for the lead.  Tim Behmer joined the battle and was able to make his way by both Fehr and Johnston on lap 5.  He quickly started to move away from the field.

Chris DiRitis moved his way through the field to second spot on lap 6.  He was followed by Robin Johnston, Mike Tidaback, and Austin Fehr.  Mike Tidaback was able to work by DiRitis on lap 8 and by lap 9, Frank Fischer and Zack Maratini entered the top 5.  By halfway, Behmer started to work his way through lapped traffic as DiRitis worked back past Tidaback and started to reel in the leader.  The lapped traffic would be the achillies heel for Behmer and DiRitis not only caught him, but slipped by Behmer going down the backstretch on lap 19.  To add insult to injury, Behmer and a lapped car made contact and sent the #96 Badger into the infield one lap later.

The field made only one lap before another spin slowed the field again.  On the restart, a couple of cars in the front of the pack got together which resulted in a huge multi-car crash at the start finish line.  Paul Lotire Jr.'s #1B got upside and several cars were invovled in the wreck.  Last weeks winner, Frank Fischer was involved, as was Zack Martini and last years Champion, Bobby Watkins, who was making his first start of the season.  Martini was escorted to the ambulance, which was quickly on the scene, and later released with some slight bruises and the wind knock out of him but otherwise, OK.  All other drivers invovled were OK as well.

The final restart of the race saw Chris DiRitis leading, Mike Tidaback second, Allison Cummens third, Ryan Tidman fourth and Austin Fehr fifth.  This restart went off without a hitch and the field completed the last two laps and with no changes in position.

The TQ's ran two heat races, which were won by Mike Tidaback and Tim Behmer.  The next event for the ATQMRA is at the Waterford Speedbowl in CT.  This is the first visit for the ATQMRA at the "Bowl" in several years.
Heat Races were won by Tim Behmer and Mike tidaback
